My header image is starting to get fucking packed!

So I finally got into a bit of the monster battling in Chrono Trigger. Not too impressed just yet. I have this little roly-poly water elemental guy. I send him to battle and use various items in battle to either make him do different types of damage. For this effort I have gotten some items that are okay. I guess there is more to it though? Haven’t bothered yet.

Dissidia has been largely ignored because I still don’t get how to work the game right. I’m starting to think it’s just me sucking.

The Last Remnant is starting to hand me some rough battles. I’m in one now that has been going for at least twenty minutes and has just started to turn sour. My unit I have been trying to use for healing keeps getting caught up with others and can’t go heal. Not too hot. I did just see a Synergy move for the first time right now. Holy shit did that do a lot of damage. But now I get another boss fight with no chance to save. And it looks like you have to do this seven times to proceed the story at this point. I’m on the second one. It may sound a bit dull, but these fights have been quite exciting and challenging, so it’s good for me.

What snuck in and took a lot of my time this week was Left 4 Dead. I had a few people over for gaming on Monday and Thursday and L4D took most of the time. Monday it was just a friend’s copy and we thought that it said the game was up to 4 players. It is, but networked or system linked. Only 2 per system. So I got my own copy, we hooked up two 360s and had a blast on Christmas Day blowing the loving bejezus out of some zombies.

I enjoyed the game, but the content feels lacking. There are four different scenarios to play, but the differences pretty much are in locale only. Zombies rush at you. Sometimes from behind. Sometimes with a tougher zombie tagging along. Sometimes with all different types. The endings of each one play out the same. A few different scenarios with different objectives or goals would have given this game miles. I understand it is supposed to have a lot more options in the PC version, but I still feel more could have been given in the basic package. Hell, just a few more different guns or some differences between the characters even. Something would have been nice but even then you have a game that is quite enjoyable, if not a little too straightforward.
