I tend to carry my DS and PSP around in my man-purse because, well, first I have a goddamned man-purse and may as well use it. And secondly, why not squeeze in some gaming when I have the chance?

It happened to pay off tonight because one of my friends has recently purchased a PSP. Due to this, tonight I finally got to play Dissidia multiplayer. I suck at this game even when I am more powerful than my opponent, it seems.

You can level yourself down if you are higher than your opponent, but your opponent cannot up themselves to balance that way. A bit odd, but even that capping doesn’t change all that much. Having more moves is still a big advantage. These points aside, it was still pretty fun to play.

It became apparent to me that Dissidia is almost like a trading card game in a way. You basically have to collect the different moves, abilities and equipment by playing the game and then create your player and go from there. I am sure there are already talks about optimal sets for certain characters.

This idea to me, would be brilliant for an online game where new content could be released regularly, tournaments could be organized and a community built. I have no idea if anyone would actually undertake such an concept, but I know I would surely give it a shot.
