My Quick Review of the Megami Ibunroku Devil Survivor Boxart

I was hoping to write about the actual game of Devil Survivor today, but since I just only a few moments ago beat the bonus dungeon in Chrono Trigger, a review of the box art will have to do. Click on the above image to get a glimpse into this magical world I will soon talk about.

I basically know nothing about this game other than it was made by Atlus, features a bunch of teenagers with glowing red lines coming out of their body and has a title that confuses me. Am I surviving devils or am I a devil who survives? Or will this have nothing to do with anything of what I do in the game?

To go back to the red lines, if you look closesly at the boxart you will notice one thing in particular.

Breasts.

One of the red lines stems from the left bosom of the female character on the bottom row. The girl in the upper left corner seems to has her red glowing line stem from her armpit, but this is probably because she cannot pick a shirt that properly holds her breasts, and we are one centimeter away from seeing a nipple. Flipping through the manual I see she is supposed to be 20 years old. So I guess it’s okay if we see a nipple from her, but it seems she should have drank her milk in her younger years, or at least tried to pick a dress that was actually designed for her small breasts.

I am sure breast size is why she looks so angsty.

And as far as the other young lady on the box, she looks much angrier and seems to have her red line stemming from the collection of maple leaves stapled to her forehead. The manual says she is sixteen, so perhaps she is angry about the hair style forced upon her by her mother who is clearly jealous of the breast size she should not humanly possess.

As far as the men, it seems the lead has his red thingy coming out of his eye, the guy to his left out of his temple, the upper left dude from his necktie and the smug looking bastard in the upper right from his right nipple.

It also seems from the shocked expression on the male character in the lower left, that the one smug bastard behind him is prostrate-examining him, perhaps with another red line.

From all this data I can only assume that each of the seven characters represents one of the deadly sins, and something to do with Sodom and Gonorrhea. Hopefully by playing this game I can save them from destroying themselves and everyone can have a nice, non-sexual party with grape soda and Cheetos.
