Finished a game this week, picked up a new one and decided to finish one that I started two years ago only to find it to be much harder than I expected.
Finally finished Chrono Trigger DS! And not just the main quest but the final bonus dungeons with the new ending. The earlier dungeon proved to be too annoying for me at this time to finish, but the one post game was really fun. Three times it gave you a bunch of screens from prior in the game followed by a new little dungeon with a tough boss to couple with it. The new final boss was pretty damn cool, even though I kinda cheese my way with Robo’s new weapon to finish it. Even then it was still a pain and yet quite fun. Really liked the new ending, even if it was a bit short, because it put me right in the mood to play Chrono Cross again and hope that there is another sequel in the works. I can only hope.
Dissidia I played only a little yesterday on my selected “bonus day” which means I get hella free experience points. I didn’t like Onion Knight as much as some of the other characters, and his duel with Tina was a straight up pain in the ass. Only have to finish a few more of these character chapters and then I guess something else unlocks? Still having a good time with this one, although I wish I had a way to play it online. Damn my gimped, no Wi-Fi PS3.
And staring at the list of unfinished games, I noticed Final Fantasy 6 Advance was sitting there. I thought I had gotten pretty far in the game, but I guess I just never finished it off. Booted it up today and spent the entire day playing it. It definitely scratched an itch I had been having recently that I didn’t know how to get at. There was a bonus dungeon added to the GBA version and I spent the day working to unlocking it and getting into it a little bit.
It is fucking hard.
The game isn’t known for being that difficult, but this dungeon is rocking my ass. To get through it, I have to take three parties in, and well, I neglected most of the characters throughout the game, I guess. This leaves me with only one decent party and a bunch of strugglers. I have spent a good amount of time collecting good equipment and doing colloseum fights to get a lot of other cool shit.
Good lord, I have missed this kinda stuff. Really glad I popped this in today.
And on the new game front Devil Survivor is a brand spankin’ new MegaTen game released this past week with something very special about it. It is a strategy RPG that I am not hating. This is amazing. A larger article will be coming about it, but let me tell you right now, this game is fucking fun.
