I have dropped 5 kilograms since I started WiiFit back in October. Now, has it been WiiFit or the diet change?

So it has been almost three months since I began my daily WiiFitting. I’ll admit that the holiday season was bad for me, though. Not in terms of over-eating, which did occur albeit rarely, but rather not being on a daily schedule made it more difficult for me to find time to get it done. Ironically, I had more free time to do it, but that’s another topic in itself.

What I did manage to do was at least get my daily readings in. Hop up on that little balance board and stand as still as I possibly could (which is not very, it seems) until it tells me my weight. After that it has me do some weird movements that apparently tell me my balance in years-old. I have the balance of someone quite older than me, WiiFit says.

I have read that it’s not a good idea to get a daily reading on your weight because … well I’ve never quite understood the reasoning. As long as you understand that the body’s weight can fluctuate within a certain range within a day, there is awesome knowledge to be found. It’s more about noticing trends. For example, the general trend of my weight going down over the course of the past few months.

Another thing I noticed, is that it helped me pinpoint “bad days” for me. I was always slightly heavier on Fridays and Sundays. Well, I always go out on Thursday for a dinner-party type thing with friends. And Saturday is the big go out and drink stupid crazy night. I have been watching myself better on these days and have been consuming less calories as a result. Perhaps this is a coincidence, but if I get what I want, who am I to complain?

I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to being the twig I was early in high school, and I don’t know if I want to. But at least I’m feeling better than I have in years, and that’s worth more than I paid for WiiFit.

Working to make myself get up early and get to bed early is rough.

It’s six thirty A.M.

It’s cold.

I am going to WiiFit before I normally would get up and get ready for work.

Will it work? Will I fall asleep standing up? Will I crawl back into bed?

Tune in next time. Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.

I had a dinner of okonomiyaki, and it is destroying my bowels at the moment.

Definitely not the healthiest dinner I could pick, but I haven’t had it in so long the offer from a friend to go grab some was hard to pass up. It’s hard to describe what it is exactly. I mean, even reading the Wikipedia page only covers a bit of the experience. The amount of stuff packed into it just makes it such a filling meal. Dolloping copious amounts of mayonnaise, spicy mayonnaise at that, makes the dish so rich and fatty that it never fails to put me into a sleepy daze.

That said, instead of rambling about okonomiyaki some more, I am going to go pass the fuck out.

I am going to take a shit on my copy of Actraiser, set it on fire, piss it out and then stomp it until my foot bleeds.

I’d almost say I’ve been socializing too much! Only really put time into two games this week, but I did clear one!

Well, winter break is at a close, basically. Got Sunday to get ready for a seminar I am giving on how to improve English pronunciation to teachers.

I am giving a lot of seminars as of late. I’m not sure if this is something I like or not.

I tend to carry my DS and PSP around in my man-purse because, well, first I have a goddamned man-purse and may as well use it. And secondly, why not squeeze in some gaming when I have the chance?

It happened to pay off tonight because one of my friends has recently purchased a PSP. Due to this, tonight I finally got to play Dissidia multiplayer. I suck at this game even when I am more powerful than my opponent, it seems.

You can level yourself down if you are higher than your opponent, but your opponent cannot up themselves to balance that way. A bit odd, but even that capping doesn’t change all that much. Having more moves is still a big advantage. These points aside, it was still pretty fun to play.

It became apparent to me that Dissidia is almost like a trading card game in a way. You basically have to collect the different moves, abilities and equipment by playing the game and then create your player and go from there. I am sure there are already talks about optimal sets for certain characters.

This idea to me, would be brilliant for an online game where new content could be released regularly, tournaments could be organized and a community built. I have no idea if anyone would actually undertake such an concept, but I know I would surely give it a shot.
