I have dropped 5 kilograms since I started WiiFit back in October. Now, has it been WiiFit or the diet change?
So it has been almost three months since I began my daily WiiFitting. I’ll admit that the holiday season was bad for me, though. Not in terms of over-eating, which did occur albeit rarely, but rather not being on a daily schedule made it more difficult for me to find time to get it done. Ironically, I had more free time to do it, but that’s another topic in itself.
What I did manage to do was at least get my daily readings in. Hop up on that little balance board and stand as still as I possibly could (which is not very, it seems) until it tells me my weight. After that it has me do some weird movements that apparently tell me my balance in years-old. I have the balance of someone quite older than me, WiiFit says.
I have read that it’s not a good idea to get a daily reading on your weight because … well I’ve never quite understood the reasoning. As long as you understand that the body’s weight can fluctuate within a certain range within a day, there is awesome knowledge to be found. It’s more about noticing trends. For example, the general trend of my weight going down over the course of the past few months.
Another thing I noticed, is that it helped me pinpoint “bad days” for me. I was always slightly heavier on Fridays and Sundays. Well, I always go out on Thursday for a dinner-party type thing with friends. And Saturday is the big go out and drink stupid crazy night. I have been watching myself better on these days and have been consuming less calories as a result. Perhaps this is a coincidence, but if I get what I want, who am I to complain?
I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to being the twig I was early in high school, and I don’t know if I want to. But at least I’m feeling better than I have in years, and that’s worth more than I paid for WiiFit.
