Nothing major this week, as my weekend ended up being a lot busier than I expected it to be. First week in a while I haven’t finished a game, but I’m close to the end of two, and progress is progress.
I really need to start playing Devil Survivor some other time than right before I go to bed. Progress is minimal at best, but I’m still having a good time. I had one battle that was a bit rough but after a few times I was able to figure out what I needed to do.Â
Dissidia is still my Saturday game due to the huge bonuses I get. I was informed that there is a bit of a trick to getting tons of experience points fairly quickly and I couldn’t help but boost some of my characters up using it. It seems Exdeath is rather stupid when he finishes his teleport move and it is easy to score an HP hit on him. Since the XP is awarded for these hits based on a few different factors, if Exdeath’s level is high, use the Magical Pot to get a brave value equal to his ridiculously high brave and then hit him after he finishes teleporting. The experience awarded can raise even a high leveled character a few levels and if done right, it can be ridiculous. I finally started up what I think is the last part of the main story. One that is completed I’m sure I’ll still pop the game in on Saturdays to get some boosts to my character, but until I have a way to play the game online, I’m sure the poor game will slowly get pushed aside.
What I made the most progress in is Phantasy Star 4. I’m not quite sure if I like it more than the original, but it’s a much better game than 2 or 3. Granted, I liked 3 a good deal just because of how goddamned awful it was, but it’s nice for a change to like a game because it is pretty good. Definite upgrade in the dungeons over the previous two games and the difficulty is just right. A shame there isn’t an item that gives the ability to save anywhere like in Phantasy Star 2, but that doesn’t hurt too much. Once I clear the treasure out of a dungeon and find the boss, it’s not that big of a deal to warp out and run back to the boss. I think I’m a bit more than halfway through at this point and should be finishing it up sometime this week.
