Making that pretty logo is hard when I’m tired. But I played a lot this week. Still working on Devil Survivor and doing rounds of Street Fighter 4 here and there. Picked up 7th Dragon and Game Center CX: Arino’s Challenge and have been working on the two of them. Was really hoping to be done with Devil Survivor before 7th Dragon hit, but that didn’t happen. I have been swapping between the two though (Well, 3 if you include GCCX), and that’s helping me not feel sick of any of them.
Devil Survivor is just hard. Enjoyable, but hard.
7th Dragon hasn’t won me over yet. It’s Etrian Odyssey in a Dragon Quest-like shell, but the Etrian Odyssey side is pulling stronger at the moment. A lot stronger. And something just feels off about it. I’m having fun, but the game feels like it is missing something. If you have played any of the Etrian Odyssey games, you have a basic idea of what is going on in 7th Dragon. Make characters from certain classes, set their skills and go do quests and missions to proceed. Instead of having only one dungeon to crawl through, there is a world map filled with towns, caves and forests and what not. I’m having a good time but like I said, something is missing.
Game Center CX: Arino’s Challenge is something that I’m sure I will write up more on later this week. Basically it’s a bunch of early Famicom-era-like gamest that were made for the sake of you doing challenges in them. It’s fairly simple but is scratching an itch I didn’t even know I had.
And I still suck at Street Fighter 4.
