Earlier late posts! I’m getting almost better.
Nothing much but Final Fantasy 2 the past week. I’m not sure exactly where my gaming time is disappearing to. I’m not really doing much else. Time to bust out the old time management skills and see what is going on in my life.
But Final Fantasy 2 is getting difficult again. There have been dungeons I get near the end of and get wiped out. Lost progress is annoying but somehow it feels less annoying in games like these. Perhaps it’s the lack of cinematics to press start through or the fact that it presents a challenge at all that lets me say “Okay, I’ll try again.” Any which way, I find it invigorating.
The other thing I did was spend a chunk of time playing Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary with Eriko after she picked it up. If you just heard a squeal, no that is not the mice in your house having sex but rather my giddiness at the fact that I have started something that I may not be able to stop. The fact that she’s asking me to play games is just hilariously excellent.
But enough about that. Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary is awesome because of the metric load of modes available to play. I really can’t even comprehend some of the modes they’re so damn crazy. But none of them have been short on the fun. I have a feeling I’m going to be playing a lot of this before bed in the coming weeks.
Not too much on the Street Fighter 4 front as I only got in one night last week. Was playing against a friend and after I won a good number of rounds he wanted to try something else. We popped in Left 4 Dead and wow. After a few weeks of Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries I don’t think I can stomach Left 4 Dead anymore. The added Survival mode really isn’t much fun from what I played. It takes the last stretch of any normal mission and just makes it annoying.
As far as new games I’m going to get into, I don’t see anything on the front until I plow through Final Fantasy 2. I’m hoping to do this before Sunday when I start up Final Fantasy 5 in a new challenge. More on that later.
