Just finished Gizamalukeskywalker’s Grotto. I guess there’s no bossfight here? I remember it being harder or something so I stocked up on a lot of unneeded items!

Festival of the Hunt is completed! Vivi won so I got some card that I’ll never use. Yay.

Black Waltz #2 annihilated me.
Since this game has such a slow battle system I upped the speed in the settings. But then it occurred to me that Final Fantasy 5 and 6, if not others, use that for the enemies only. Perhaps 9 is the same? I’ll set it back down low and give it another shot.

Only got a little bit in tonight. Mostly going through the Active Time Events, which I completely forgot about, in the town of Dali. I don’t know why they didn’t quite do much for me the first time, but I’m already starting to enjoy these little looks into the various characters and their interactions with the world. Previously I said I wanted to finish this play as quickly as possible. Now I’m thinking this is going to be a slow drag with my trying to experience as much as I can.

Beat Shirion on my second try. Even got the mythril dagger steal as well. Just outside of the next town. With five hours on the clock I guess I’m not getting Excalibur 2! Which makes me wonder how exactly you do that without the ability to open the disc tray to skip the cutscenes.

Just had my first wipe against Shirion. (Sea lion?) Damn tsunami. Hopefully I don’t wipe a lot in this run. I’d like to finish it relatively quickly!

The load times don’t seem to be as bad as I remembered. I wonder if that is any thanks to the PS3 or that it could just be the old fat PS2 I played it on originally. Just got out of the forest and heading off to adventure.

Already fell asleep once while playing. That’s probably more the fault of the big lunch and the heat though. I completely forgot how good looking this game was. Currently wandering around as Vivi. Too adorable.

The Japanese version already earns bonus points over the North American release for the amazing Amano artwork on the CDs! Let’s boot this baby up!
I thought people just loved FF9 for Vivi. I wouldn’t know though, Chip took mine and lost it.
