Last stage in Super Mario 3D Land.

I died thirty seven times.

I did beat the level. But it took my hearty 187 lives down to a mere 150. And it felt fantastic finally beating that level.

Along the way a little box popped up. Nintendo was telling me that my handling of Mario was not up to par. “Here is a white leaf. It will help you,” they said. I acknowledged it. But I refused to take it.

A few deaths later another box appeared. Continue reading »

Final Fantasy Type-0 (FF0) shares a lot with Monster Hunter and this makes it one of the best games ever conceived.

Don’t believe me? Let’s look at the facts.

I knew that the logging wouldn’t go on forever. There was going to be something that would prompt me to get out of it.

And that was my schedule being put off due to seminars.

So I basically did very little Read The Kanji last week because of those two seminar days. Well, and a recent class overload as compared to my normal schedule. That’s okay, though, because it was there to supplement what I do with Anki. Which I have, thanks to the iPhone, done well with. As far as reading is concerned, I’m slowly poking away at manga. It’s getting better, but not the best.

This study log though really did help me find points in the day to get more Japanese in. Perhaps I will come back and do it again if my schedule gets roughed up, but now the work to do the logging in general is just more of a hassle. In the end I think I am doing more because of it, but it is no longer necessary to keep doing more.

I’ve decided to stop logging books/manga for two reasons. One, it put more pressure on me than it actually got me reading. And two, now I’ve started converting text files to epub files to read on my iPhone and that is really hard to “count”. It’s easy to see how many reps I did. Keeping track of pages in general just spends more time than I want to. Well, it is motivating during tadoku contests but a hassle otherwise.

Down, down, up. But not too down and I had some shabby days on the ReadTheKanji front. But I did see every word at least once, so now I am in complete review mode which feels good. I didn’t really have any bad days for my Anki reps, and considering that I spent Saturday celebrating my birthday and Sunday recovering from too much food, I’m pretty happy with that.

No computer, no ReadTheKanji seems to follow as usual except I did manage to squeeze a few in on the weekend and a lot on Thursday which was a holiday. So I’m pretty happy overall.

If I have learned anything about babies this past 5 months, that one is pissed they aren't getting any milk.

No, that’s not Yuko Oshima’s baby. That’s just her holding someone else’s baby up to her partially exposed breast. Are people going to masturbate to that? I hope not.

Anyway.

Now you can pay ¥1480 ($18.93 at time of writing) per month to have AKB48 themed internet, an AKB48 tagged email address and access to concert tickets and other goodies.

Oh. And the writing on that image? “Want to make a baby with me? (On the internet.)”

Well then.

ReadTK reps really took a hit this week and I read a little bit more manage than usual but not so much. After about a month and so of this it’s clear I need to change things up drastically. Will look into that this coming weekend.

New Final Fantasy game! I’m excited, are you?
